Prof. Dr. Erleta Çelmeta (Mato)

Short Bio:

Born in 1955 in Tirana, graduated in language and literature, specialized in Pedagogy and Psychology, teacher of educational sciences with 40 years of experience in education. Former director of the Institute of Pedagogical Studies and the Institute of Curricula and Standards, vice-rector at two different universities, author and co-author of over 30 textbooks in Albania and Kosovo, monographs and university books, researcher and lecturer invited to many academic environments at home and abroad.

Her best-known books as the first author and co-author are: “Pedagogy for pedagogical schools”, 1996; “Children under 6 years old” (1997); “In search of knowledge” (2000); “Civic Education in Albania” –study paper (2004); “Citizenship in school in the 21st century” (2005); “Guidelines for curriculum development” (2006); “Reading Strategies” (2006); “Philosophy of the New Curriculum” (2007); “Let’s Live Together” (2007); “Ready for School”; (2008); “Environmental Education for the Primary Cycle”, (2008); “Textbooks in Pre-University Education” (2010); “A World to Discover” (2011); “First Steps”; (2012); “The Teaching Project in Pre-School and Primary Education” (2017), “Educational Policies and Reforms” (2018), etc. For more than 10 years, she has been the president of the “Education Specialists” association, through which she has carried out various projects and studies.
